Green Diego is a vision of San Diego making the transition into more sustainable green neighborhoods, where the pace of life is slower, where the streets are safer for pedestrians and bicyclist, where home owners are upgrading their homes to be healthier and more energy efficient.
As you stroll through a green neighborhood you see green lawns replaced with water tolerant plants, edible gardens and more trees to shade homes and walkways.
Neighbors are reconnecting, helping each other and improving the livability of their blocks.
Green Diego is much more than a vision for the future, its first major event takes place in Kensington on June 26th.
This is not just a one day event plans are underway for follow meetings and home tours in Kensington.
Contractors and solar suppliers will be invited to selected events so neighbors can hear about what their company has to offer. With the combined buying power of neighbors working together we should see some very competitive pricing from these contractors.
